Currently Kent & Medway generate over 300,000 tonnes of green compost a year. Think how much could the whole of the UK produce.

Green compost is made from organic materials, such as trees, shrub pruning and grass cuttings. It may also contain fruit, vegetables and other biodegradable materials.

The composting process turns these waste products into another product.

Soil improver on light and heavy soils

Mulch, particularly for shrubs and trees

Top dressing for turf

In growing aids to reduce peat usage (peat extraction is being curtailed in the UK due to the destruction of wildlife habitats and Sites of Special Scientific Interests (SSSIs)).

Composting improves soil’s ability to hold air & water, which in turn produces a suitable environment for root growth.
